Animal cell culture lab of BRS is a unit of drug discovery and toxicologicalresearch using mammalian cell lines. Mammalian cell lines are maintained under high sterile conditions in the facility. Screening of natural products, compounds or drugs for their anticancer, anti obesity, antidiabetic, immunomodulatory activity, anti-inflammatory etc. using respective cell lines are the major activities of the laboratory. The laboratory supports the herbal research division in natural product discovery. The major focus includes apoptotic pathway analysis of cancer cells treated with medicinal compounds, toxicology analysis of phytoconstituents and diabetes research.
